It is located in the scenic upper Bregtal valley at the source of the Danube. The location is perfect for day trips, e.g. to Freiburg, Stuttgart, Baden Baden, Titisee with its bathing paradise, Lake Constance, the Elass, the Feldberg, Switzerland or the Europapark. Furtwangen itself offers you excursion destinations such as the German Clock Museum, the Hexenlochmühle, the Martinskapelle, the local mountain Brend as well as the Fallerhof (filming location of the TV series "Die Fallers"). There are approx. 50 km of well-maintained cross-country ski trails, various ski lifts in the area and countless hiking trails.
