The Ems barrage is on foot within easy reach or the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg is about 35 minutes by car very close and not forgetting the thermal bath Fontana Resort from our Dutch neighbors in Bad Nieuwe Schanz is not far away with a 30 minute drive to only some mention.
By ferry set of Ditzum on the other side of the Ems to Petkum on from where the harbor town of Emden can be reached quickly.
Or take in the summer months, a day trip by boat from Ditzum to Borkum and back. Spend an inspiring day on the westernmost and largest of the East Frisian Islands. The Inselbahn brings there from investors to Borkum railway station.
